Faculty Services Specialist

Location: Irvine California

Description: Brandman University is at present recruited Faculty Services Specialist right now, this occupation will be placed in California. The Faculty Service Specialist supports the Manager of the Faculty Approvals Office with processing approvals for all part-time faculty, senior lecturer, and full-time faculty employed at all Brandman University campuses, the Division of Online Learning, the School of Nursing and Health Professions and the College of Ameritas in the Banner database system, including the coordination of small class requests and approvals. This position, under the direction of the Manger, Faculty Approvals Office, will work with the following university departments: the academic schools and deans; all Brandman campuses; human resources, payroll, and IT. This position will initiate Argos workflows and reports and will support the faculty pay process using the Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC) component of Banner. The Faculty Service Specialist will work with the School of Nursing to process application paperwork from prospective nursing adjuncts and build online course sections for the school in Banner. This position will also maintain a list of new adjuncts needing background checks and training to notify the HR department as necessary.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 100% of time

Faculty Approvals:
Create new adjunct applicants as general persons in Banner to generate ID Enter degree and major information for applicants Process Request for Teaching Approvals using imaging system and Banner Interacts with academic deans and associate deans on adjunct faculty approvals, small class and individual study requests Enter approved courses for new and current adjuncts in Banner restriction form Enter contract types for new adjuncts in Banner Enter new adjunct pay level in Banner for calculation of pay for contracts Initiate workflows and reports in Argos as required Notify campuses and/or schools of approved requests

Schedule Support:
Build semester online course sections in Banner for School of Nursing Assign instructors to nursing courses Determine and enter contract type for nursing adjuncts Update pay levels for nursing adjuncts using reports from Argos Communicate with the Online Learning department to ensure new nursing adjunct faculty have access to Web Advisor/Email/Blackboard resources and training

Payroll Support:
Enter information in Banner for School of Nursing and Health Professions to run PEPFLAC and PEPFCAP

General Administrative Support:
Assist with requests for faculty reports

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED:
Exceptional customer service skills including:

May require travel for meetings, conferences, or between locations and may include overnight travel

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work is generally performed within a climate controlled office environment and with standard office equipment.
