More complete informations about this vacancy opportunity kindly see the descriptions. The Ward Clerk (WC) / Unit Assistant (UA) performs clerical and reception support on an assigned nursing unit.
This position provides clerical support as part o! f a customer-focused, service oriented team that incorporates the values of MMC in a confidential environment.
The Unit Clerk role will champion and model excellent customer service behaviors while on duty utilizing the AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, Thank you) model. Accountable for compliance with all continuous readiness and quality standards as assigned.
Also under the supervision of the licensed nurse, this position provides basic direct nursing care.
The individualized patient plan of care that this position will assist includes the activities of daily living and comfort measures.

Human Resources is located at 1800 Coffee Road, Suite 116 in Modesto, California. Our hours are 7:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of Medical Terminology course required within 1 year of hire

OR
proven experience of 6 months or longer as a Ward Cler! k
OR
one of the following equivalent positions (Acute Care Nursing Assistant (ACNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Monitor Tech (MT) or Monitor Tech (MT) in an acute care hospital working in a capacity where use of Medical Terminology is an established practice.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of care for the patient population as evidenced through passing the MMC ACNA entry exam with a score of 80% or higher.
Ability to type a minimum of 25 wpm.
HeartSaver CPR Certification.
Basic skills in reading, writing and arithmetic.
Knowledge of basic clerical duties.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to write, read, hear, and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
Must be able to travel in accordance with any requirements of your job (if MMC and/or own vehicle used on MMC business, must possess valid California Driver's License an! d upon request proof of liability insurance).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:
Prior hospital clerical or cardiac monitoring experience.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient population.
Recent patient care experience.
