The Infection Control Professional is responsible for coordinating the hospital-wide infection control program and for the study education and evaluation of hospital functions relate! d to prevalence and control of infection and acts as a consultant for infection control problem solving. The Infection Control Program, and for the study education and evaluation of hospital functions related to prevalence and control of infection and acts as a consultant for infection control problem solving. Infection Control Professional is responsible and accountable to the Director of Quality Management. This position requires completion of an Infection Control Program training and CIC designation.
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelors in nursing or other related field, or work in progress preferred. Must have Basic Infection Control training course. Must have a minimum of three (3) years work experience in Infection Control. Current California licensure as a registered nurse or medical technologist, preferred.
Certified in Infection Control (CIC). Must have a working knowledge of infection surveillance and control functions including Epidemiologi! cal principles and infectious disease. Sterilization sanitatio! n and disinfection practices. Knowledge of external regulatory requirements.
Working knowledge of adult education principles and patient care practices. Must have MS Office Suite or equivalent computer knowledge and demonstrated competency. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
