Established in 1946, LeRoy Haynes Center has grown from a small operation serving just a handful of children into one of the largest and most comprehensive non-profit organization of its kind, dedicated to helping children with special needs relating to emotional development, autism, Asperger's Disorder, learning disabilities, abuse, neglect and abandonment. Nestled against the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, LeRoy Haynes Center's lush 21-acre campus is located in the city of La Verne at the east end of Los Angeles County.
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to manage the Health Services Department and coordinate all health care services for the agency's clients ensuring compliance with the agency's nursing procedures and medication protocols. Reports directly to the Director of Mental Health. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Job Description
- Responsible for the overal! l management of the Health Services Dept.
- Supervises ! Health Services staff
- Ensures compliance to all County, State and Federal guidelines, policies and practices
- Complies with all reporting requirements for the County Departments who contract with the center in a timely and professional manner
- Submits Los Angeles County Dept. of Mental Health billable unit documentation
- Coordinates Psychiatrist appointments
- Provides med supervision and distribution as prescribed by psychiatrist. Documents and reviews med sheets for accuracy and compliance
- Current RN license
- Two or more years of experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong team building and mentoring skills
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working with emotionally disturbed children/adolescents preferred
- Experience with DMH documentation preferred
