JOB DESCRIPTION:
Lag! una Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center is accepting applications for ten (10) as needed positions in class 9910 Public Service Trainee to assist in the implementation of electronic medical records at this site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Public Service Trainee will assist in the implementation of electronic medical records and function as a coach to a multidisciplinary staff that consists of physicians, nurses, unit clerks, other clinicians and other non-clinical staff. The essential functions include:
Instructing others about Health Information Systems technologies;
Facilitating communication between users, the Information System team and organizational leadership;
Providing user support and one on one teaching ;
Troubleshooting system problems and/or assign to appropriate Information Systems staff or vendor;
Assisting in developing training materials to train adult learners;
Assisting in workflow analysis, planning and doc! umentation;
Providing updates in writing and orally on tea! m and individual progress; and
Performing other related duties as assigned/required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1A. Possession of a high school diploma or enrollment in an accredited college and/or university ; AND
1B. Three (3) months full time equivalent verifiable experience in Information Technology /EMR customer service experience in a medical health setting;
OR
2. Possession of a Bachelorâs degree or Associate Degree in Health Information Technology, Health Science, Computer Science, Nursing, or other related field.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Ability to learn and apply concepts of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and its relationship to other information systems (eCW and LCR/Invision) in a short time frame.
Ability to teach adult learners (staff of all ages and backgrounds).
Strong organizational skills to perform duties effectively, efficiently and productively.
Excellent oral and writte! n communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Flexibility to float between assignments and shifts.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft software (e.g. Word, Excel, Visio) and aptitude to learn other systems and in the interface between them.
The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.

SELECTION PROCEDURES:
The selection process will include evaluation of applications in relation to minimum requirements. Depending on the number of applicants, the Department may establish and implement additional screening mechanisms to comparatively evaluate qualifications of candidates. If this becomes necessary, only those applicants whose qualifications most closely meet the needs of the Department will be invited for an interview.
