- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment. Report defects to the Nursing Supervisor and document in infection control log per policy and procedure.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments, exam rooms, and all treatment areas (i.e. surgery, lab, cast room, etc.) as needed or directed.
- Respond to and participate in all clinical emergencies and maintain emergency equipment.
- Maintain adequate and current inventories of medication and supplies. Properly dispose of or return expired supplies per policy.
- Assist primary nurses/medical assistants in treatment and care of patients (i.e. telephone calls, rooming patients, reinforce providerâs instructions, document and follow-up, etc.).
- Complete nurse-visit charges and coding in an accurate manner at the end of the encounter. Assist provider to complete E&M coding.
- Demonstrate, enforce, and adhere to Infection Control Standards, Universal Precautions, and
- Dispose of all sharps in the appropriate disposal container.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and capability to perform all assigned nursing functions within scope of licensure. Maintain current licenses/certificates.
- Follow current policies and procedures for labeling and collection of all specimens, using appropriate media.
- Facilitate patient education per provider orders and telephone screening with documentation per scope of license.
- Perform any additional/miscellaneous duties (not inclusive of job description) as requested by the management team within the scope of licensure.
