Works collaboratively with physician counterparts to manage the health care needs for adult and Senior patients with Behavioral Health needs. Provides assessment, diagnostic, and treatment services. Functions as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate efforts across the health system that maximize clinical and financial outcomes. Provides patients with health education and uses expertise to determine the most appropriate treatment options. Documents patient encounters in the medical record. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education activities for the service with physicians and staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, values, and quality commitment of Palomar Health. Job Requirements Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure Preferred Education: Not Applicable Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years clinical nursing Preferred Experience: 1 - 2 years work as Nurse Practitioner with Behavioral Health patients Required Certification: American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider Preferred Certification: Crisis Prevention (CPI) within 6 months of hire Current Drug Enforcement Agency Number (DEA) Current CA Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Certificate Required License: Current CA Nurse Practitioner License Current CA RN License Preferred License: Not Applicable
