The Specialist of Hospice Compliance/Education has the responsibility for the development, implementation, ongoing monitorin! g of the Hospice compliance, QAPI and education, programing and training. He/she reviews hospice policies, procedures, medical records, and clinical and non-clinical competencies to ensure the continuous improvement of hospice staff performance. Assessing, implementing and updating compliance education components to ensure all associates receive orientation to the culture and standards of Silverado Hospice Inc. He/She ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and applicable standards. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred. Credentials: Current license within the State of residence as an RN. Experience: At least two years of work experience as Case Manager, Patient Care Manager or QAPI Manager. Experience with interpreting and analysis of Federal and state licensing regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation and The Joint Commission. Core Competencies: Ability to make meaningful observations and write comprehensive accurate reports.! Knowledge of Medicare COPs, Federal and State regulations. Ex! cellent computer skills in Excel and Word. Clear and practical understanding of Hospice clinical workflow. Ability to be attentive to detail. Possess excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrate positive communication skills in interacting with other members of the hospice team, Silverado and management. Possesses the willingness to adopt Silveradoâs core operating philosophies of LOVE > fear. Other: Valid driver's license, and auto insurance. Business Travel 25%. Candidate location can be California, Utah or Texas. FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with the Senior Vice President, Vice President and Sr. Director of Compliance/Education to provide an on-going, comprehensive assessment of our hospice compliance and education standards.
Facilitates the integration of common goals for outcomes/best practices across service lines and coordinates quality activities with the clinical leaders of all Silverado Service Lines to ensure that common goals are achieved! .
Works in conjunction with the Hospice Director of Compliance/Education on an ADR compliance program to include probe reviews, focused reviews and RAC/MAC Audits and ensures focused audits are completed to prevent denial of reimbursement for clinical services.
Ensure implements and monitors an annual education plan to provide staff development in all aspects of Hospice care and core competencies.
In conjunction with Sr. Director of Compliance/Education oversee the orientation of Clinical Leadership to include DPCS and QAPI Coordinators and Patient Care Managers.
Ensures that operations is documentation compliant and meeting all The Joint Commission/Licensure/CMS standards for reimbursement /accreditation.
ompiles, trends and reports quality data in the following areas: patient care, safety, risk management, infection control, outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Data is analyzed and compared internally and externally with other sources when available. Utilizes problem-solving techniques to address areas of education an! d in support of appropriate compliance.
Maintains current information and requirements related to applicable laws, regulations and standards and complies with hospice policies and procedures, laws and regulations and standards of practice
Maintains continuing education through academic studies, seminars, and workshops.
Attends and participates in in-services, staff meetings and case conferences.
Completes all documentation in an accurate and legible manner.
Fulfill project(s) development and implementation as assigned.
