I live with my daughter (she's Jaclyn T.), son-in-law and two grandchildren (ages 9 and 6). My son-in-law is in the Navy full-time and my daughter is an ICU Nurse ! who is also in the Navy Reserves. I moved in with them seven years ago so that my daughter could go to school full-time (to become a nurse) and work full-time. I gave up my career as a programmer to do this. Seven years later I am still helping raise my grandchildren but am also trying to build a new career for myself.
The reason I am writing is, my daughter is going to be deployed to Afghanistan and is leaving in January to start the process (hence using the January 10, 2014 date on the job). My son-in-law can go out to sea at a moments notice at times and my new career is as a Triathlon Coach, Triathlon Official, working Race Registration and Expos, Swim Instructor and I coach High School Springboard diving. My schedule is varied (except for the high school coaching) but there are times when I might have to be gone for a weekend to a race and my son-in-law might not be able to be home for the whole time I'm gone. I know that from Feb-May when I am coaching spring! board diving I will need help picking up the kids from school,! helping them with their homework and cooking them dinner at least four nights a week for approximately two hours a day.
So, I am looking for help and we want to line one or more people up prior to my daughter leaving so she knows who will be here helping while she is gone. This is going to be difficult for the kids too as they have never had their mother deploy. Their father has but they are use to that. My grandson also has ADHD and takes medication on school days.
