Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) that is licensed or in the immediate process, and qualifies, of obtaining RN licensure in this respective state to work in the specialty area of the Pediatric ICU / PICU. This assignment is flexible as a local contract, local contract to direct hire, or as a travel assignment.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for the delivery and coordination of patient care and the application of the nursing proces! s. The RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments ! and utilize critical thinking in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. As well, the Registered Nurse (RN) will perform according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. This position is accountable for providing competent nursing care for patients with common health problems, and is expected to deliver competent patient care to a full patient assignment. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's polices.
13 week assignment
12 hour days
7:00am - 7:30pm
Weekends are required. Call is not required.
May float to all inpatient units, with the exception of NICU. Travelers will float before staff members do.
Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an accredited school.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or wi! lling to obtain licensure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS and PALS
Prefer experience in a Peds only ICU, with 15 beds or more
Minimum 2 years recent PICU experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses patient needs, signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.
Revises and documents the plan of care according to evaluation, changes! in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventio! ns.
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
