The Clinical Partner (CP), under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and after education and demonstration of competency, performs a variety of direct patient care activities or tasks specific to the Unit/needs of the patie! nt population which include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists patients with activities such as eating, walking and personal hygiene.
- Records and reports vital signs, dispenses/retrieves bedpans, and removes urinary catheters.
- Maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Identify safety concerns in the age related population and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment; and identify developmental milestones in the age-related population.
- Other job responsibilities as appropriate to the scope of care as a Certified Nurse Assistant for the patient population being cared for.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma/G.E. D.
- Current and valid certification from the State of California as a Nurse! Assistant.
- Current and valid Basic Cardiac Life Supp! ort/BCLS certificate from the American Heart Association.
- Full command (written and verbal) of the English language.
- Excellent customer services and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windows or comparable system specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills and applicable to individual job duties and expectations, employee must demonstrate competency in use of the applications indicated on the competency checklist.
- Minimum of one (1) year or more work experience in an acute care facility (hospital or medical center) or long-term care hospital (Convalescent, Skilled Nursing Facility or Physical Rehabilitation Center).
- Must be able to perform assigned duties in a demanding work environment.
- Must pass the required pre-employment Phy! sical Assessment (the physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions).
