Job Summary:
As part of the St. Joseph Health System Clinical Informat! ics department, the
Clinical Informaticist
provides expertise in clinical information systems, clinical workflow analysis, and data management to support the goals of Perfect Care, Sacred Encounters, and Healthiest Communities. Under the direction of the Regional Manager of Clinical Informatics, the Clinical Informaticist is responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of clinical information systems ensuring system and process design achieves Health System objectives of standardization, integration, and workflow efficiency; as well as, supports compliance with regulatory requirements. The Clinical Informaticist is a change leader and serves as a positive, progressive, professional role model.

Essential Functions:
- Provides technical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize clinical information systems ensuring system design achieves Health System objectives of standardization, integration, and efficiency and supports compliance with regulatory requirem! ents
- Develops knowledge and understanding of clinical management, staff, and physician workflow and system needs and functions as a liaison between these stakeholders and the system build teams
- Provides leadership in clinical workflow and system process improvement to enhance clinical quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
- Develops and maintains standard documentation of system design and workflow processes ensuring documentation is complete and current
- Shares knowledge and expertise with others in support of organizational change management and educational needs
- Provides end-user go-live and ongoing support of new processes and system use
- Gains understanding of System/Ministry data needs and provides assistance in the development of reports
- Demonstrates compliance with all system and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with annual sa! fety and competency testing.
- Assists in the development of pol! icies to support information management regulatory requirements
- Serves as a positive, progressive, professional role model to staff, supporting their individual information technology learning needs
- Supports training of end-users as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements:
Ability to travel to all ministries â" 25%, with limited occasional increases to 50% depending on support needs
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors in Nursing or other health or technology related field or equivalent background
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years working in an acute ! care setting; prior experience working with health information systems !
Preferred Position Qualifications:
License: RN/LVN or other health related license
Certification: Nursing or technology related certification
Experience: Familiarity with MEDITECH and/or Picis applications
Environmental Conditions:
- Fast paced environment with multiple interruptions
- May be subject to changing work hours to meet client needs
- Minimal exposure to health hazards when in patient care areas
- Able to sit for extended periods of time
- Able to utilize computer keyboard and mouse
- Able to mobilize around hospital campus for various meeting and activities
- Able to reach, bend, stoop, sit repeatedly
- Able to withstand frequent interruptions â
- Able to lift boxes and file up to 25lbs
- Able to travel
