Specific Job Responsibilities: It is the duty of all employees to understand and perform their job tasks to the highest level at all times.
- Monitor facility and assist where needed for optimal patient flow.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment. Report defects to the Nursing Supervisor and document in infection control log per policy and procedure.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments, exam rooms, and all treatment areas (ie. surgery, lab, cast room, etc.) as needed or directed.
- Respond to and participate in all clinical emergencies and maintain emergency equipment.
- Maintain adequate and current inventories of medication and supplies. Properly dispose of or return expired supplies per policy.
- Assist primary nurses/medical assistants in treatment and care of patient! s (i.e. telephone calls, rooming patients, reinforce providerâ! €™s instructions, document and follow-up, etc.).
- Complete nurse-visit charges and coding in an accurate manner at the end of the encounter.
- Assist provider to complete E&M coding.
- Demonstrate, enforce, and adhere to Infection Control Standards, Universal Precautions, and use of Personal Protective Equipment at all times. Maintain Infection Control log(s) per policies and procedures. Monitor and dispose of contaminated waste per policy. Access and interpret needed information from facility MSDS book or from MSDS Online.
- Dispose of all sharps in the appropriate disposal container.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and capability to perform all assigned nursing functions within scope of licensure. Maintain current licenses/certificates.
- Follow current policies and procedures for labeling and collection of all specimens, using appropriate media.
- Facilitate patient education per provider orders and telephone screening wi! th documentation per scope of license.
- Perform any additional/miscellaneous duties (not inclusive of job description) as requested by the management team within the scope of licensure.
- Maintain complete understanding of the Scope of Practice for duties and limitations of their own licensure/ education level.

Experience: Prior nursing experience in an ambulatory care environment preferred.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Current California RN license. All Healthcare workers must maintain a Current CPR for Healthcare Provider card. AA, BA/BS degree a plus.
