The Employee Health Coordinator, RN organizes, coordinates, implements, and monitors/evaluates health services provided to employees an! d ensures that objectives, standards, policies, and procedures meet and conform to all organizational standards and employee health performance measures, as well as to all local, state, and national licensure, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Supervises daily employee health operations and evaluates and improves the quality and effectiveness of all employee health services including services related to infectious disease control/prevention, occupational illnesses/accidents, pre-employment health status screenings, & ensuring that all employees are able to perform the duties of their jobs.
Essential Functions:
- Develops, implements, & evaluates/improves employee health procedures/services related to employment, pre-employment, emergencies, and follow up care for occupational & non-occupational injuries, accidents, & illnesses
- Integrates services and daily operations with Occupational Health Service Line business and patient car! e objectives and goals
- Manages the pre-employment scr! eening program and ensures that established standards for quality, cost, and effectiveness are met or exceeded
- Enforces compliance with annual health evaluation requirements and manages the retention and retrieval of all required records, histories, and documents
- Ensures that employees working in specialty areas (e.g. hemodialysis, home health, chemotherapy) comply with annual and mandated health requirements in addition to general requirements
- Monitors infectious exposures/ illnesses and immune status of employees in order to realize and maintain a non-infectious working environment for members and employees; participates in committees; may provide for health counseling and health education for employees
- May participate in planning and implementing health information and reporting systems
- Prepares, coordinates, and reviews all policies and procedures pertaining to employee health and communicates these through appropriate channe! ls and media
- Develops and implements employee health procedures/services for emergencies and follow up care of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
- Promotes employee health programs through participation in risk management/safety and infection control committees and programs
- Provides administrative direction/supervision to assigned personnel and may provide clinical/technical direction
- Consultation to assigned nursing staff including performance management/evaluation, hiring, coaching, counseling, staff development, discipline, & labor relations issues ⢠Ensures that employee health services provided by staff conform to regulatory requirements; monitors the quality and level of services provided by staff
- Develops and manages programs for evaluation, prevention, and follow up of employee occupational accidents
- May participate in the development & implementation of modified work programs for employees! w/ occupational illnesses or injuries
Basic Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience required
- Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience required
- Bachelor's degree in management or a health care related field preferred
- Current and valid California Registered Nurse licensure required
- Demonstrated ability to utilize and apply knowledge of health education/promotion and physical fitness as well as the physical requirements of numerous jobs
- Understand and conform to all local, state, and national regulatory/licensure/accreditation requirements pertaining to employee health
